Football Recap: Apalachee Starts off Right with Win over Chattahoochee + How To Watch

Apalachee took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They blew past the Chattahoochee Cougars 29-9. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 47-21 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Apalachee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sharese McCowan out in front who rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown. Zach Bankston was another key player, rushing for 76 yards and one score on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Apalachee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chattahoochee only rushed for 168 rushing yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apalachee will square off against Cherokee Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chattahoochee, they will face off against Riverwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
