Softball Game Preview: Florin Panthers vs. Armijo Royals

The Florin Panthers will face off against the Armijo Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Florin has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Armijo will arrive with 12 straight wins.

Florin couldn't beat Foothill on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Panthers came up short against the Mustangs, falling 20-6.

Meanwhile, Armijo put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let West Campus get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

The result came thanks to Brooklyn Talbot's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Harmony Gillis, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Aaliyah Spears was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Armijo's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Florin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
