Basketball Game Preview: Ringgold Redskins vs. Lincoln Prep Panthers

Ringgold hasn't had much luck against Lincoln Prep recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Ringgold Redskins will head out on the road to square off against the Lincoln Prep Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ringgold is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Cedar Creek: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Ringgold blew Cedar Creek out of the water with a 55-28 final score. That 27 point margin sets a new team best for the Redskins this season.

Ringgold got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keenan Johnson out in front who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points along with six boards and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in blocks (four). Another player making a difference was LaDaunte McCoy, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Prep had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.8 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They slipped by the Golden Tornado 47-46.

Ringgold has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-17 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Lincoln Prep, they pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Ringgold lost to Lincoln Prep on the road by a decisive 57-42 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2022.
