Grand Island Central Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Birch, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points along with five boards and four steals. Birch is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Liban, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Zach Hooey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Holt, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Hooey is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Konrad, who put up eight points in addition to 11 boards and five assists.

Grand Island Central Catholic's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points over those games. As for West Holt, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
