Baseball Recap: Nova Takes a Loss

Nova extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-9. They fell 5-2 to the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Nova saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Musa Adeoye, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Christian English also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Pembroke Pines Charter, the victory got them back to even at 9-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

On Pembroke Pines Charter's side, Ashton Pardo looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pardo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Fabrixio Mejia, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Gustavo Morillo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Nova will host South Broward at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they are taking a road trip to square off against Chaminade-Madonna at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
