Basketball Recap: Vance Nue Simmons' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fairfax Homeschool over Tournament Opponent

Fairfax HomeSchool was the 63-48 winner over Tournament Opponent when they last played one another on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tournament Opponent on Saturday. The loss was the Hawks' first of the season.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vance Nue Simmons, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 16 points and four steals. Nue Simmons is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Comeaux, who went 5-for-6 en route to 13 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fairfax HomeSchool fell to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Fairfax HomeSchool will challenge Bethel Academy Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tournament Opponent has already played their next game (against Our Lady of the Rosary), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
