Volleyball Recap: Fruitport Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fruitport had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Montague Wildcats. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Fruitport easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-16.

Fruitport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Regan Wilson led the charge by getting 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Wilson has posted over her last ten contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Johnson, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Fruitport's record now sits at 22-10-1. As for Montague, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-23-1 record this season.

Fruitport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against North Muskegon on the 18th. As for Montague, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Ravenna on the 18th.
