Baseball Recap: Cimarron Gets the Win

After only two runs in their last game, Cimarron made sure to put some runs up on the board against Liberal on Friday. The Bluejays walked away with a 16-11 win over the Redskins. This was a revenge game for the Bluejays: when they faced off against the Redskins on Friday, they had to take a 5-2 defeat.

Trace Kopper made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kopper was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adonis Batman, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Cimarron: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6-2 otherwise. Ryder Gordon was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

Cimarron was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberal only posted a batting average of .235.

Cimarron's victory bumped their record up to 10-6-2. As for Liberal, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cimarron will challenge Colby at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bluejays surely won't give up without a fight. As for Liberal, they will venture away from home to square off against Great Bend at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
