Football Recap: Gervais Finds Playoff Glory Versus Siuslaw + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gervais walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 48-28 margin over the Siuslaw Vikings on Friday. Considering the Cougars have won six matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Johnny Mariano produced another solid effort rushing for 251 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Alex Toran was in the mix too, providing Gervais with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gervais was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 282 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Blankenship, who picked up 132 receiving yards and one score. Bryce Franzoni also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Gervais and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for Siuslaw, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Gervais nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
