Volleyball Recap: Reese Roberts' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ash Grove over Spokane

After flying high against Pleasant Hope on Tuesday, Ash Grove came back down to earth. The Pirates took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spokane Owls on Thursday.

Ash Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Reese Roberts, who had 15 digs.

Carley Collins was nothing short of spectacular for Spokane: she had 14 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Collins has posted over her last 14 matchups.

Ash Grove's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-14-3. As for Spokane, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6-3 record this season.

Ash Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spokane, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against New Covenant Academy on the 25th.
