Baseball Recap: Apollo Ridge Triumphs

Apollo Ridge was forced to take a big loss against they on Monday, they got the better of them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers, sneaking past 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Chargers on Monday, they had to take a 15-0 defeat.

Apollo Ridge's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gage Wingard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Anthony Gerardi also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Apollo Ridge's record is now 3-7. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Apollo Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-3 defeat against Greensburg Central Catholic on the 16th. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, they have also already played their next game, a 6-5 win against South Side on the 22nd.
