Softball Recap: Mills Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Mills got themselves on the board against Half Moon Bay on Wednesday, but Half Moon Bay never followed suit. They blew past the Cougars 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Kalia Woo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jazzy Maske, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Mills pushed their record up to 10-2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Half Moon Bay, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mills will head out to challenge Capuchino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Half Moon Bay, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South San Francisco at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
