Recap: Bucyrus Redmen vs. Colonel Crawford Eagles
The Bucyrus Redmen's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. The matchup between Bucyrus and Colonel Crawford wasn't particularly close, with Bucyrus falling 49-31. While losing is never fun, Bucyrus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 620th, while Colonel Crawford is ranked 60th).
Bucyrus' loss came despite strong showings from Brook Dennison and Marissa Middleton. Dennison scored seven points along with four steals, while Middleton scored nine points along with four steals. Middleton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Bucyrus bumped their record down to 2-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Colonel Crawford, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bucyrus will be home for the holidays to greet Ridgedale at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Colonel Crawford won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mt. Gilead at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th.
