Football Recap: Jackson County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Jackson County and Marion County squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Jackson County had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Warriors and fell 49-13. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Warriors are ranked 86th).

Colt Loftis threw for 93 yards and one touchdown. Kason Letterman was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Braiden Dodson rushed for 59 yards.

Marion County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zaiden Humphrey led the charge by rushing for 93 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while also throwing for 42 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 57 yards. Mason Mays was another key back, rushing for 60 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries.

Jackson County's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Marion County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Jackson County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marion County, they will challenge South Greene at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
