Basketball Recap: Southridge Comes Up Short

Southridge and Coral Springs squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Southridge had to settle for second. They took an 80-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coral Springs Colts.

Coral Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jahmai Henry, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Henry a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Pierre-Louis, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds.

Southridge's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Coral Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Southridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coral Springs, they will face off against Boyd Anderson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Coral Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Boyd Anderson likes a good challenge.
