Softball Game Preview: Chino Hills Huskies vs. Upland Highlanders/Scots

Chino Hills has gone 8-2 against Upland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Huskies will look to defend their home field against the Highlanders/Scots at 3:15 p.m. Chino Hills will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Chino Hills came out on top against Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Huskies blew past the Cougars 12-3. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Nadia Juarez looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kyler Del Duca was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Lambrecht, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Chino Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Upland has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.91 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against Etiwanda, falling 14-7. The Highlanders/Scots' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Chino Hills' victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Upland, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Chino Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Upland in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 11-8. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Highlanders/Scots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
