Basketball Recap: Mineral Point Takes a Loss

The Mineral Point Pointers came up short against the Waunakee Warriors on Saturday, falling 68-43. While losing is never fun, the Pointers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Warriors are ranked 29th).

Mineral Point's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Waunakee, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mineral Point will host Barneveld at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waunakee, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Beaver Dam at 7:15 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Waunakee has won three straight at home, while Beaver Dam won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
