Basketball Recap: St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints vs. Collegiate Cougars
After flying high against the Trinity Christian Gryphons last Friday, the St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints came back down to earth. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' tough 57-37 defeat to the Cougars on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Collegiate found their leader in underclassman Clare Aman, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Tull, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes dropped their record down to 4-12 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Collegiate, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes will take on the at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Collegiate, they will be playing at home against the Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Anne's-Belfield will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
