Softball Game Preview: Chazy Eagles vs. Johnsburg Central Jaguars

The Chazy Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Johnsburg Central Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Chazy made easy work of Willsboro Central and carried off a 23-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Stephanie Barriere made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Chazy got a massive performance out of Aubrey Bechard, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Bechard a new career-high. Calleigh Clark was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Johnsburg Central got the win against Lake Placid on Wednesday by a conclusive 18-3.

Chazy came out on top in a nail-biter against Johnsburg Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
