Abilene had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They never let the Memorial Mavericks get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given Abilene's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Memorial are ranked 484th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Abilene's win bumped their record up to 12-3-2. As for Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Abilene and Memorial will both be playing Cooper the next time they take the pitch. The Eagles will head out to face the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Mavericks will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
