Basketball Game Preview: Greater Cabarrus S Stallions vs. Grace Academy Lions

Greater Cabarrus S and Grace Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Greater Cabarrus S Stallions will head out on the road to take on the Grace Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Greater Cabarrus S is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 79-49 victory over South Charlotte. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-17.

Ashton Arrowood was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teddy Helton III, who posted 15 points.

Meanwhile, Grace Academy was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Carolina Christian 90-36. Grace Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 32 points or more this season.

Grace Academy pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.4 points per game. As for Greater Cabarrus S, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Everything went Greater Cabarrus S's way against Grace Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2019, as Greater Cabarrus S made off with a 72-48 win. In that contest, Greater Cabarrus S amassed a halftime lead of 41-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
