Basketball Recap: Holbrook Takes a Loss

Holbrook suffered their closest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the San Carlos Braves by a score of 45-43. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Braves are ranked 33rd).

Despite the loss, Holbrook saw an underclassman step up: freshman Channing Harrington went 7 of 16 en route to 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrington has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Claw, who posted six points and three steals.

Holbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for San Carlos, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Holbrook will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Round Valley at 6:00 p.m. As for San Carlos, they will face off against Arete Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
