Basketball Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy lost against Seymour back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kennedy Eagles fell to the Seymour Wildcats 64-59. The Eagles were up 21-6 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

It was another big night for Joey Carrafiello, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten boards for Seymour. The matchup was Carrafiello's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane White, who posted 13 points and four steals.

Kennedy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Seymour, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Kennedy has already played their next contest, a 62-54 defeat against Waterbury Career Academy on the 5th. As for Seymour, they will face off against St. Paul Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
