Softball Game Preview: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Covenant Christian Warriors

The Monrovia Bulldogs will square off against the Covenant Christian Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monrovia is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Monrovia's offense. They lost 10-0 to Triton Central on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Covenant Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Triton Central on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one run.

Emmy Nottingham and Braylin Boruff stepped up to the plate in a big way. Nottingham went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Boruff went 3-for-5 with two runs.

Covenant Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Monrovia, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Monrovia couldn't quite get it done against Covenant Christian in their previous matchup on Saturday as they fell 9-5. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
