Baseball Game Preview: Bemidji Lumberjacks vs. Grand Rapids Thunderhawks

Bemidji is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Grand Rapids is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lumberjacks will host the Thunderhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Two must be Bemidji's lucky number: they beat Moorhead with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Lumberjacks skirted past the Spuds 2-1.

Gunner Ganske spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Bemidji saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Kringen, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Kringen's first of the season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Grand Rapids sidestepped Denfeld for a 6-5 win.

Grand Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Bemidji, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
