Soccer Game Preview: Evergreen Park vs. Providence Catholic

The Evergreen Park Mustangs will square off against the Providence Catholic Celtics at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Evergreen Park's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Wednesday, neither Evergreen Park nor Oak Forest could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Providence Catholic had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 8-1 victory. The result kept Providence Catholic happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Their offense was hitting Marian Catholic from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Maggie Wolniakowski led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Evergreen Park's draw gives them a new season record of 8-8-2. As for Providence Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 20-0-2.

Evergreen Park couldn't quite get it done against Providence Catholic in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
