Basketball Recap: Kai Mcgrew Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Lawrence North won the last time they faced North Central and things went their way on Friday too. The Lawrence North Wildcats strolled past the North Central Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 88-70. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrence North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kai McGrew, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. The match was McGrew's third in a row with at least ten points. Azavier Robinson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten assists.

Lawrence North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Bellamy, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 16 points and seven boards. Those 16 points gave Bellamy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Grosfeld, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Lawrence North pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for North Central, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Lawrence North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-56 loss against New Palestine on the 29th. North Central has also already played their next matchup, a 55-50 defeat against Warren Central on the 31st.
