Baseball Game Preview: Manteo Redskins vs. Currituck County Knights

Manteo is 1-9 against Currituck County since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Manteo will be playing at home against Currituck County at 7:00 p.m. Manteo will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Manteo's victory against Northside - Pinetown wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Manteo sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Northside - Pinetown on Thursday.

Austin Godfrey and Drew Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Godfrey scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Brown scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Brown also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Currituck County didn't have quite enough to beat Manteo on Tuesday and fell 7-5.

Currituck County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Manteo, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Manteo skirted past Currituck County 7-5 when the teams last played on Tuesday. Does Manteo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Currituck County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
