Recap: Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls vs. South Iredell Vikings
In what's become a running theme this season, the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. Everything went their way against South Iredell as Hickory Ridge made off with a 60-39 victory. Winning may never get old, but Hickory Ridge sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Hickory Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ma-kaela Gidney out in front who scored 22 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gidney has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sheree Gidney, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
South Iredell's loss came despite strong showings from Daria Fink and Kayden Johnson. Fink scored 13 points along with nine rebounds, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games.
Hickory Ridge pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for South Iredell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.
Hickory Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Cox Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Iredell, they will play host again and welcome A.L. Brown, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully A.L. Brown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday.
