Softball Recap: North Laurel's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

North Laurel dropped their record down to 29-4-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 4-1 to the Henderson County Colonels. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Colonels when the teams met back in June of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Henderson County, they pushed their record up to 31-4 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Henderson County's part, Anna Kemp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kemp was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Kemp wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braylin Risley, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

As of now, neither North Laurel nor Henderson County have any future games scheduled.
