Basketball Recap: River Ridge Drops Season-High Score on Morristown-Hamblen East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River Ridge). They walked away with a 116-109 victory over the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Royal Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 475th in Florida, while the Hurricanes are ranked 230th in Tennessee).

River Ridge had a senior duo take command as Jacob Yeager went 12 for 21 on his way to 29 points and five assists and Jonathan Casarez went 7 of 14 on his way to 29 points. The match was Yeager's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Adams, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

River Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got River Ridge back to even at 7-7. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

River Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 98-79 defeat against Mundy's Mill on the 30th. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-41 loss against Rogers Heritage on the 30th.
