Baseball Recap: Wheelersburg Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Wheelersburg and Valley squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Wheelersburg had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pirates have suffered since April 2nd.

Wheelersburg's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Wheelersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley, they will take on Lynchburg-Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
