Basketball Game Preview: Wildwood Wildcats vs. Williston Red Devils

Two dominant guards in Demarius Knight and De'Andre Harvey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wildwood Wildcats will face off against the Williston Red Devils on Wednesday. Wildwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Williston likes a good challenge.

Wildwood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They breezed by Cedar Key to the tune of 94-29. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Williston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to The Villages Charter at home by a 76-61 margin. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Buffalo are ranked 18th).

Wildwood has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points per game. As for Williston, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Wildwood couldn't quite finish off Williston in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 66-63. Can Wildwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
