Basketball Game Preview: Ferndale Yellow Jackets vs. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack

The Ferndale Yellow Jackets will square off against the Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Ferndale took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past Blacklick Valley with points to spare, taking the game 60-41. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Juniata Valley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 77-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The WolfPack's loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Ferndale will have to keep a close watch on Jayden Stamm and Ethan Bowen, a pair of players who had a big impact on Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy's prior game. Stamm posted 29 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Bowen had 24 points. With that strong performance, Bowen is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Rocco Gigante, who put up six points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.
