After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Site, Walnut was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Alcorn Central Bears, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since March 30, 2024.

Walnut's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Alcorn Central, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.

When Walnut and Alcorn Central next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Walnut will try to stop East Union's six-game winning streak when they meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Alcorn Central will face off against Booneville and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
