Softball Game Preview: Brooke Bruins vs. North Marion Huskies

The Brooke Bruins will square off against the North Marion Huskies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brooke will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Brooke is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand East Liverpool a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Potters: they've now won nine in a row.

Brooke let Jazymn Wood and Maggie Diserio run wild. Wood went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Diserio went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Wood has posted since back in April of 2024. Emilee McKinney was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Brooke kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Liverpool only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, North Marion came up short against Bridgeport on Friday and fell 12-8.

Kinlee Hess was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Brooke's victory bumped their record up to 2-17. As for North Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
