Basketball Recap: Siegel Stars vs. Blackman Blaze
Siegel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 66-21 loss at the hands of the Blackman Blaze. The Stars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Neela Alexander was Siegel's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Alexander also led the team in rebounds with five.
It was another big night for Lyriq Mastin, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 32 points for Blackman. What's more, Mastin also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Samantha Garner, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and six steals.
Siegel's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Blackman, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3.
Siegel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-34 loss against Riverdale on the 18th. Blackman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
