Softball Game Preview: Atlantic City Vikings vs. Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors

The Atlantic City Vikings will face off against the Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlantic City knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Camden County Vo-Tech likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Atlantic City got the win against Lower Cape May by a conclusive 17-3. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by ten runs or more this season.

Nelly Sosa was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Marota, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and three RBI.

Atlantic City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .548 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Camden County Vo-Tech fell victim to Oakcrest and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Atlantic City is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Camden County Vo-Tech, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Atlantic City was able to grind out a solid win over Camden County Vo-Tech when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 13-9. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
