Baseball Recap: Damien Takes a Loss

Damien saw some tournament action on Monday. They came up short against the La Habra Highlanders, falling 9-2.

Damien got a good showing from Andrew Angell, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Damien saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elius Kelly, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Oliver Hines also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Damien has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. The victory (which was La Habra's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Damien will square off against Etiwanda at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for La Habra, they will host La Quinta at 3:30 p.m. on the 10th.
