Baseball Recap: North Putnam Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, North Putnam finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They came up short against the Covington Trojans, falling 8-2. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Brayden Chew was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases.

North Putnam now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Covington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

North Putnam and Covington will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cougars will face off against rival Brown County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Covington is set to challenge their familiar foe Attica at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
