Volleyball Recap: Manual's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Manual hadn't done well against DSST: Cedar recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Thunderbolts blew past the Falcons 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderbolts, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

One reason for the win was Manual's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-18, 25-17.

Savannah Hogarth was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had eight aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Martinez, who had 11 assists and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Manual was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matches.

Manual's victory ended a five-match drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for DSST: Cedar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Manual has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against DSST: Green Valley Ranch on the 2nd. As for DSST: Cedar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against DSST: Conservatory Green on the 2nd.
