Softball Game Preview: County Line Indians vs. Westside Rebels

County Line hasn't had much luck against Westside recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The County Line Indians will look to defend their home field against the Westside Rebels at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

County Line is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Thursday. They blew past Cedarville 11-2.

Virginia Besier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Besier was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Katelynn Sarten was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Olivia Reames, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Westside came up short against Greenland on Thursday and fell 28-23. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

County Line might still be hurting after the 13-5 defeat they got from Westside in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can County Line avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
