Football Recap: Eastmark Starts Season with Victory Against Crismon + How To Watch

Eastmark took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Crismon Rattlers 24-22. Given the Firebirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Rattlers are ranked 145th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Zaiden Virani was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 152 yards. Those 152 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Crismon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Walker Higbee rushed for 126 yards and a pair of scores.

Crismon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastmark will take on Walden Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crismon, they will square off against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
