Baseball Preview: Peru Nighthawks vs. Ticonderoga Sentinels        
        
		
            
 The Peru Nighthawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ticonderoga Sentinels at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Peru will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak  alive.
 Peru can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent  matchup  on Saturday. They were the clear victor by  a  22-1 margin over Chazy. Peru's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Gavin Sypek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and only one walk). Sypek has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Sypek was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-1.
 In other batting news, Peru got a  massive  performance out of  Landen Duprey, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in five of his six plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Zack Engstrom, who  got on base  in three of his six plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.
 Meanwhile,  after constant struggles on the road, Ticonderoga has finally found some success away from home. They fell  6-3 to Plattsburgh on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  runs Ticonderoga has scored all season.
 Peru's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Ticonderoga, their loss  ended  a  six-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 4-2.
 Peru was able to grind out a solid  victory over Ticonderoga in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023, winning  6-3. Will Peru repeat their success,  or does  Ticonderoga have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
