Baseball Recap: Wiggins Takes a Loss

Wiggins fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Merino on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 8-6. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Carston Johnson and Isaac Flores did some serious damage despite the final result: Johnson went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one triple, while Flores scored three runs while going 3-for-5. Those three RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Langford, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Wiggins' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Merino, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Wiggins will face off against Holyoke at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Merino, they will square off against Simla at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
