Basketball Game Preview: Canton Tigers vs. South Shelby Cardinals

Canton and South Shelby are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Canton Tigers face off against the South Shelby Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Canton was able to grind out a solid victory over Clark County, taking the game 50-42.

Meanwhile, South Shelby put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Monroe City with a 50-44 win.

Canton's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for South Shelby, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Canton came up short against South Shelby when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 56-45. Can Canton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
