Baseball Game Preview: Ryle Raiders vs. Conner Cougars

The Ryle Raiders will challenge the Conner Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ryle's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Conner's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Ryle is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Simon Kenton just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 9-2 to the Pioneers.

Meanwhile, Conner won against Spring Valley on Saturday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Covington Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since May 27, 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Conner and bumps their season record up to 10-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Ryle, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5-1.

Ryle was able to grind out a solid win over Conner in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
