Basketball Game Preview: Cranston West Falcons vs. North Kingstown Skippers

Cranston West is 0-10 against North Kingstown since February of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Cranston West Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the North Kingstown Skippers at 7:00 p.m. Cranston West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season.

On Friday, Cranston West strolled past Classical with points to spare, taking the game 66-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cranston West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyla Buco, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Talya Walker, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

Cranston West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, North Kingstown faced Ponaganset in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. North Kingstown took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ponaganset. The Skippers' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Kingstown fell to 8-1. As for Cranston West, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Things could have been worse for Cranston West, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-51 loss to North Kingstown in their previous matchup last Thursday. Can Cranston West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
