Basketball Recap: Salisbury Dragons vs. Delmarva Christian Royals

Salisbury lost against Delmarva Christian last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Salisbury Dragons took a hard 46-30 fall against the Delmarva Christian Royals. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 251st in Maryland, while the Royals are ranked 112th in Delaware).

Despite the defeat, Salisbury saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alice Tolker posted six points along with 13 boards and four steals. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Tolker. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinty Hudson, who had three points.

Even though they lost, Salisbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Salisbury has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Delmarva Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Salisbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Delmarva Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Middletown at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
