Basketball Recap: Mckenzie Rimmer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mosley over Walton

Mosley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 58-41 to the Walton Braves. The Dolphins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Mosley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being McKenzie Rimmer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 boards. Rimmer has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Faith Alvarado, who went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points.

Even though they lost, Mosley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches.

Mosley's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Walton, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-9.

Mosley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-50 win against Leon on the 21st. Walton and Bay will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
